Ambelak Children Initiative Limited, is an NGO mothered by St. Kalemba Senior Secondary School, was born out of a pressing need to respond to the overwhelming number of children both local and refugees who wanted to attend school but were at risk of dropping out due to financial and social barriers. Initially, the school offered a limited number of scholarships, but as demand grew, it became clear that a dedicated initiative was needed to ensure every child had a chance to learn, grow, and thrive.

Founded to address this challenge, Ambelak Children Initiative provides scholarships to academically bright students from low-income families, including refugee children, enabling them to access quality education and life-changing opportunities. Beyond scholarships, the initiative emphasizes partnerships and coordination with schools, local communities, organizations, and stakeholders to create sustainable programs and maximize impact.
Ambelak is committed to holistic youth development, incorporating STEM education, environmental awareness, life skills, mentorship, and community engagement. Students are equipped with the knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving skills needed to navigate a rapidly changing world, while also being nurtured to become responsible, compassionate, and socially aware leaders.
